Lo-Fi is an underground jam trio from Tokyo Japan that puts together a wide range of music styles (jazz hip-hop and soul in particular) together into a collage of funky vibes and rhyme. The band started performing regularly after keyboardist Nori had joined with bass-vocalist "5" and drummer "Yosh" in 2009.

Lyrics that infuse philosophical and spiritual messages also have hints of romance and humor. The music takes on different forms much like the changing scenes in a movie to portray different aspects of the three musicians lives and experiences. Even during their live performances the vast differences in each member's approach attributes to the entertaining and creatively inspiring tension and harmony in their improvisation.

After their release of "Stereo Soul" in 2009, they have toured in Hong Kong and have produced art collaboration live performances there as well. In Japan (especially after they toured nationwide) they have had a small but strong underground following among DJs, musicians and sound creators. In 2011 Lo-Fi held a charity based event in central London, and also held a painting event at the Dutch Design Week with their collaboration painter Ayumi.

Currently they are recording their next album and planning another international tour.

ボーカル「５」のリズミカルな歌とYoshのドラムリズムが交わり、色鮮やかなNoriの鍵盤が歌う三人の音は心地よいサウンドでありながら独特な世界観がある。Lo-Fiは2009年に活動開始。デジタルなHi-Fiな音楽が簡単に手に入る今こそオーガニックなサウンドや音質やスタイルの個性にこだわったバンドにLo-Fiを目指して制作を続ける。
ジャンルのスタイルや枠組みに捕われない自由な発想で新しいソウルミュージックを作るコンセプトで活動。

2009年初めにはミニアルバムがiTunes Jazz Album ランキングも２位を記録し、2009年11月に最新のアルバム「Stereo Soul」がリリースされる。リリース後は国内と海外もツアーを成功し、積極的に国際的に活動を展開している。ブルーズっぽいサウンドからアンビエントなサウンドもミックスしたアルバムはSurfing LIfe Magazineで取り上げられ、2010年６月号の付録DVDの音楽としてアルバム全体がフィーチャーされた。それに加え、iTunesスタッフのヘビーロテーションアルバムとしても選ばれる。

2011年末はLondonでイベントも主催し、オランダのデザインウィークイベントではギャラリーをライブ会場にしたイベントも主催。反響を呼ぶライブによって2012年もヨーロッパツアーを拡大し、USツアーも企画中。

尚、現在新アルバムをレコーディングしながら、アートコラボレーションのイベントも日本で企画中。
